2011 Spring Runoff Conference
"Water, Climate, and Sustainability of our Changing World"
The 2011 Spring Runoff Conference was held at the Eccles Conference Center on the USU Campus March 29 - 30.
The Spring Runoff Conference, hosted by the USU Water Initiative, encourages the development of interdisciplinary research on water-related issues in Utah and the Intermountain Region. Join us to discuss the latest water research at Utah State University, and across the Western U.S. Topic areas include water use and conservation, water quality, climate change, soils and groundwater, and snow hydrology.
Registration is $50. Student registration is FREE, but required. We invite students, faculty, consulting and governmental agency professionals, environmental and citizen organizations to participate. Suggestions for sessions and volunteers to organize or host a session are welcome.
Presenting at the Conference
We invite all (students, faculty, professionals) to submit abstracts for our poster and oral abstract competitions. The due date is March 7, 2011. Abstracts should be 500 words or less and can be submitted by clicking on the "submit an abstract" link above. Presentations should be 15 minutes long with a 5 minute question period as part of breakout sessions with related presentations. Submitted presentations will be scheduled on both days of the conference.
The posters will be displayed throughout the conference. A special poster session will be held on Tuesday night with refreshments. The display area for posters is 8 feet wide by 4 feet tall. There is not a designated poster size for this conference but they should fit within those parameters.
The Spring Runoff Conference is sponsored by the USU Sustainability Council.
